4-H

4-H is great for kids, whether they come from the rural areas or the urban areas.  (Someone thought they needed to live on a farm or ranch to be eligible to participate in 4-H).  It teaches life skills and social skills. They also have all kinds of projects, from sewing to bicycle, and yes even pocketpets (gerbils) and large animals.  You should pick up a pamplet on the projects offered, you would be surprised how much it has changed.

    I have several friends who grew up as members of 4-H and they have talked about the value of it even now as adults.

    I was one of those people who assumed 4-H was for those children who live on a farm. It seems like a really fun program!
